Standard parts warranty: 120-day parts only

All mechanical parts are protected to the original purchaser for a period of 120 days from the date of original invoice. The standard warranty is PARTS ONLY; labor coverage must be purchased or there will be no labor coverage including on install. If the part is deemed defective within the 120 days of invoice the seller reserves the right to repair, replace or refund at its option. To begin a warranty claim, all customers must contact Pro Auto Recyclers with their invoice number to initiate a claim prior to removing or repairing any defective parts. An RMA or claim number must be assigned and repair instructions confirmed prior to any expenses incurred by the customer. Customer must provide a repair order, receipts for any parts, services, gaskets or fluid that were used during installation and the replacement. Pictures or videos to prove diagnosis of a failed product will be required.

WARRANTY COVERAGE IS AS FOLLOWS

  • Warranties apply to the original purchaser of the part and are not transferable.
  • When a repair shop purchases a part, that shop’s customer will be considered the original purchaser. Warranties apply only if the part is installed in the vehicle for which it was originally purchased.
  • All claims must be initiated through a written claim form provided and accompanied by the original sales receipt.
  • All claims must have written authorization by the seller before any warranty work is provided.
  • Any defective part must be made available to the seller before a claim is paid.
    In all cases the seller reserves the right to repair, replace, or refund the purchase price of any part at its option. In the case of a labour warranty claim, the seller must settle the labour portion of the claim when offering a purchase price refund. When warranty labour is paid the labour warranty premium is not refundable.
  • Any improper use, abuse including but not limited to overheating, low fluid or over filled fluid levels, neglect, careless handling, damage done by improper installation or repairs, removal of a part from a vehicle in which it was first installed “Tuned” or “chipped” engines shall void the warranty. The use of improper or incorrect fluids, and/or freezing will void the warranty.
  • Proof that a proper radiator flush or that a reconditioned radiator has been installed prior to the install of the recycled engine will also be required, a new water pump also highly recommended.
  • Unless a labour warranty is purchased, all labour costs including the cost of removing attached external parts from the purchaser’s old part are not covered.
  • Seals, gaskets, fluids and similar items supplied are specifically excluded from this warranty. It is the customers responsibility to check all parts and accessories prior to installation. We recommend that whenever appropriate, new oil seals be installed in engines, transmissions, transfer cases, transaxles and differentials before installations. We do not guarantee against oil leaks.
  • Purchaser’s loss of time, loss of vehicle use, towing expense, commercial loss and consequential damages are excluded from this warranty.
    All warranty covered repairs and replacements will not extend the original warranty duration.

Conditions for Parts Coverage

Engines

Engines are considered to consist of a long block only. The long block assembly is the crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, piston rings, main bearings, and rod bearings, valves, rocker arms, pushrods, lifters, camshaft, and heads. Warranty is for the rotating assembly and valve train only. Other parts left on the engine assembly at the time of sale are included only for possible purchaser convenience and are not to be used at the purchaser’s discretion.

We do not cover any external mounted components to the long block including but not subject to; exhaust, exhaust manifolds, intakes, valve covers, turbos, injectors, pumps, fuel rails, oil coolers, electrical components, wire harness, gaskets, seals, water pumps, thermostats, flywheels/flex plates etc... Some of these parts may be included on the engine for possible customer convenience for install however, Pro Auto does not guarantee any of these components against damage or failure.

Pre installation maintenance and requirements

  • Drain & replacement engine oils to manufacturers suggested levels
  • Replace oil filter
  • Replace valve cover gaskets, oil pan gaskets and rear main seal gaskets
  • Replace thermostat, water pump and gaskets
  • Flush cooling system and refill with antifreeze to appropriate level
  • Install new spark plus, new belts and hoses
  • Inspect and replace if needed, timing gears, chains, belts, tensioners and gaskets

Automatic Transmissions

We cover the housing, torque converter, and internal parts only. We do not cover external sensors. All installation guidelines must be followed. Every transmission must be hot flushed, or coolers replaced to prevent further damage to the unit along with any relearns procedures for the unit. Proof of reprogramming documentation must be provided to continue the warranty.

Pre installation maintenance and requirements

  • Replace front seals including torque converter and input shaft
  • Replace axle seals
  • Install new transmission filter kit
  • Hot flush and inspect transmission cooling lines and system
  • Add fluid level to manufacturer specifications
  • Properly align torque converter and ensure it is seated
  • Adjust throttle position sensor cable
  • Programming of TCM

Note: When interchanging between years and models it may be necessary to change wiring, linkages and speedometer gears/sensors. Most transmissions require reprogramming, adaptations or swapping of valve body to communicate.

Differentials, Carriers, Transfer cases, and Manual transmissions

We will cover the housing and gears only. Shift motors, clutches, hubs, axle shafts, brakes, calipers, backing plates, and electrical connectors may be included with the parts but are considered customer convenience parts and are not covered under warranty.

  • Injectors, pumps and turbos for gas & diesel engines are not covered under warranty unless specified on the original bill of sale. “Tuned” or “chipped” gas or diesel engines will void warranty. The seller has the right to scan the vehicle to retrieve data.
  • Parts used for commercial applications, racing, off road purposes, or under any conditions that would cause greater than normal wear are excluded from this warranty.

Pre installation maintenance and requirements

  • Replace clutch
  • Replace throw out bearing
  • Replace pilot bushing
  • Replace axle or drive shaft seals
  • Drain gear lubes and fill to manufacturers specification
  • Inspect & adjust or replace shifter linkages
  • Inspect and replace if needed, transmission and engine mounts

Failure to follow pre installation maintenance and requirement may void warranty
